The Christmas Fizzle

I think I got to excited for Christmas a little too early.

Now I have the Christmas Fizzles where I am just waiting to take everything down.

It is my own doing.

Sadly, half of my Christmas tree lights went out and to change them~ I would need to take off all the decor and then put it back up again. Since I have the Christmas Fizzles~ it will likely just stay half lit until I take it down.

Darn you Christmas Fizzles!

  2. I started with the Christmas fizzles back in July I believe. Uh, make that July of 08. I have no Christmas enthusiasm, spirit, longing, anticipation. . . You name it. It seems to have completely escaped my grasp. I haven't even put up the tree yet. And if it wasn't for my sweet excited Mr Shawn I doubt that I would put it up either. I don't hate Christmas, it's not really that, i guess it would be closer to apathy.
I do enjoy buying and making gifts though. I just wish it could go back to the sweet simple delight that it used to be when I was a kid. No toy commercials until the second week of December, nice little Christmas decor on each lamp post. Just nice humble little touches. And just enough of them so that someone visiting our world would be able to figure out that something significant was going on. All I ask for would be, maybe, three or four mentions of Christ to every one mention of Santa Claus and all the rest of the secular stuff.
