Bugger...

I will be temporarily unavailable until further notice due to unforseen technical difficulties. ( in others words... my computer imaking a slow and untimely death. ) If this is outrageously mispelt and out of order.. I blame the computer. It's like typing in the dark.  No worries. I will be back. I have the means to repair it... just need to make a trip to utah to get it done. :)

Curse you Mary Poppins!

For the last several weeks. My dear Isaac has taken on the abnormal habit of walking on the back of my couch. I fear for my couch. Isaac is no light weight and my couch is no youngster.

I have been trying to figure out why on earth he would even consider doing such a thing. Especially considering the varying consequences that go along with it each time he gets caught.

Using my great skills of deductive reasoning, I finally figured it out... He is pretending to be a chimney sweep walking/ dancing the roof lines.  It started when we bought Mary Poppins to watch for movie night. Since it is a household favorite... we watch it often.  There will no longer be unsupervised watching of Mary Poppins... since some of us cannot seem to control ourselves!

Noah

Seth is very good at building with legos. He builds things that I wouldn't even think of building.

Fortunately for me, he built this boat at the time when I was looking for some guidance. This coming Sunday the lesson will be on Noah's ark. Those of you that have been following my blog know that I have to do some "outside the box" teaching when it comes to my sunday school class. While I was pondering what to do to engage the kids, Seth came to me with his fabulous boat creation.

Lego's!!! Lego's are the answer. I can keep the class quietly entetained building their own "arks" out of lego's while I teach the lesson. Seth, you are awesome buddy. Always an inspiration!

Mid-singles

Valentines weekend. I attempted to go to my first ever singles event. Well, that's not entirely true. I once went to a singles dance with my first husband on accident. We thought it was the married couples dance... it was not.

It was advertised as a "mid-singles" meaning... 30-45. There was a pre-party before the dance. Which was fine.
There weren't alot of people, but enough to make a social scene. There were a few that were obviously OVER the 45 age limit.
That's Danika above... NOT over the age limit :)

And this is dear Faye, belting out a few verses for  Rock Band. (also NOT above the age limit:)

and then there is ... the dance. (please follow up with ominous foretelling music, or anything from the early 90's since that's what was actually playing.)

I know the picture is a bit dark, but I think you can still tell what a happening place this is. Why just look at the dimly lit gym with its fabulous disco lights. Wow~ stunning!

and then if you will... envision several couples perusing the dance floor in their matching ensembles attempting their most serious version of "Dancing with the Stars". I threw up a bit in my mouth as I watched because it was just that bad.

Then there were the geriatrics. If you were 60+ this was THE place to be. Comb overs, canes, gray hair, false teeth, and music slow enough to not throw out a hip. Perfection.

but for me... well, lets just say I didn't quite fit in. Although I wouldn't mind going back in my best old lady costume! Where are all the Mid-Singles? Maybe there is a shortage of which I am not aware.

So we snuck over to the YSA dance and mingled with the returned missionaries and the teeny-boppers. Sure, we looked like chaperones... but who said that the chaperones can't bust a move?

With a squeeze and a kiss

The kids have their valentines parties today at school. I sent them off with a "squeeze and a kiss" to give to each of their classmates.

Get it?

So clever!

Happy Valentines Friday.

A cute little second grader made a mailbox for her valentines cards.
She brought it home to her Grandma's house and quickly devoured all the treats.
Grandma, thinking that the valentines box was just so cute, stuck it on a shelf in the basement.
There it sat... for 22 years!

Valentine's intact!

Long lost valentines from friends of the past.
A lifetime ago.

Dear Readers

It has been brought to my attention that my blog is not nearly as entertaining as it once was. I KNOW! I came to this realization myself a few weeks ago.

I am currently suffering from mid-winter blahs.

I am ready for spring, warmth, sunshine~ something that represents newness. Instead, I awake everyday to the half frozen yard and the cold air that makes me want to run back to my electrically heated bed.  I am stuck in the same routine everyday. Broken up only by the monotony of the variation of certain household chores. Whoo hoo~ I switched the routine and cleaned the bathroom today instead of tomorrow!

Hopefully this blahse'ness will come to an end soon. I am yearning to start my garden!

Sippy cup vs. cake

The cleverness of my children will always leave me shocked and suprised.

It never- ever occured to me that a sippy cup placed into the cup holder...
could launch the said sippy cup into a cake being held in the back seat!

Well played Eli!

A Day of David

David came to my house.

He chit-chatted with Sophie.

He went to Rupes.

He got his box of chocolates.

He ate them all!

Thanks for stopping in David. Your welcome back any time.

Especially when Elvis is in town.
